Nathan and his Debate

Well my mom has not posted for a really long time it seems so I, being Karla, decided to add some recent and exciting news. Nathan has been debating for school for about a month now and has been involved in a few debates, yesterday he debated in his district debate.
Today he found out the results... and he is going to STATE!!!! Yay!! There were only 8 teams that made it to state out of about 35 or so, so he must be pretty good! Along with that he received a speaker award, what a great talent he has developed over the years. (It looks as though he is taking after his Dad, considering my Dad is a great speaker as well.) He is pretty ecstatic about it, and why shouldn't he, he has done a great job. I must say after listening to him practice at home about a billion times he is a great speaker and I bet he presented very well in front of others.
We are so proud of him! GREAT JOB NATE!!

Snow

Everyone knows just how much I like snow:( I can only think of one reason to like that white stuff okay make that 149 reasons my snowman collection.

For about a week the weather here was so nice I thought for sure spring was almost here.....but no what did it do? IT SNOWED!! So I was trying to find something positive about it, and I decided I really like snow when its on the trees and all the branches are white, so I took some pictures to remind myself why I should like snow.

Thank you cards

Season comes to an end

Last Tuesday was a bitter/sweet day for the Brown family. Karla and Amandee played their last game of the season. I'm sorry for the season to be over because I love to watch them play, but I'm also glad it is over so we can have our Tuesday and Friday nights back. No more sitting in the gym for 5 to 6 hour, two nights a week.

Amandee was one of 6 freshmen that made the sophomore team. The team ended the season with a 9-11 record. Way to go Amandee!! Everyone knows that I can't watch a game without cheering really loud, okay I can't watch a game without yelling really loud at the refs. So this year I decided I would only yell at the refs once during the games. I did pretty good (better than I thought I would do) I found myself yelling more at the refs during the sophomore games than the JV and Varsity games. The Coaches found a way to help me not yell so much during the sophomore games....the last 3 games of the season they asked me if I would keep the score book during the sophomore games, so since I was at the official score table I couldn't yell.

Karla played both on the JV and Varsity team. The JV ended the season with a 12-8 record, and Varsity ended with a 13-8 record. They placed 2nd in the region so they are headed off to State. Their 1st game is this Tuesday hopefully they will get to play more than one game. (So I'm not totally having withdrawals yet I'm sure I will after state is over.) Karla had a rough end of the season due to her health she got sick about a month ago, and couldn't get better. Her coach would not let her practice but she still got playing time in the games, can't complain to much...no practice sounds great. But somehow she still did, because she got so tired of watching her team practice and not getting to practice with them.

Whats going on......

Kory: .Has finished up this schooling at the UofU and accept a job to teach at PLU (Pacific Lutheran University. He is loving every minute of it. Shortly after we got here he was called as a seminary teacher. (Just happened to be assigned Amandee's seminary teacher) So not only does he get up early to teach he is also teaching 2 night classes, so I don't think he is getting as much sleep as he would like.

Pam:Since I started this blog I can't believe how much our lives have changed.

1. We moved to Utah so Kory could get his PhD

2. I decide that I don't want to be the only family member not in school, so I enroll in classes at Salt Lake Community College.

3. We move to our 2nd house in Utah (moving is never fun)

4. We both graduate from college: Yeah! I did it

5. We move again this time Washington

6. I open Dyed 'N Gone to Heaven hair salon.

7. With this recent move I'm still trying to get used to the......RAIN.

things that have not changed.....

1. I still love to make cards, and read

2. Love watching my kids, in whatever they do...sports, choir concerts.

3. Hanging out my family

Life couldn't get much better... I have a great husband and great kids.

Karla: is a freshman in College, when she left for school, I had a really hard time, and now that is almost time to go and get her for the summer I am so very very excited. I have missed her this past school year. But we are very proud of her. She is having a great time at school, and spending time with her cousin Katie

Amandee:Is a Junior in HS this year with the move she decided that she did not want to try out for the school basketball, so instead she is finding herself very busy with all the different clubs that she joined. Her favorite class this year would be a tie between ASL (American Sign Language) and her drafting class. She still loves her music I find myself having to go into her room after she leaves for school to turn it off. She has not complained to much that now she has early morning seminary.

Nathan: is now in Junior High school UGH do I need to say more. He still knows more sports facts than anyone. He still likes school, and is getting straight A's way to go!! He played flag football for his Jr High team, got to play church basketball this past fall. It was fun watching him play. During one of his basketball games he scored 15 pts.

Jaron: is still the happy go lucky kid!! He has not changed much, his favorite subjects at school are: recess and P.E. and this year he has added Math to that list. He played flag football again this year, and was the star of his team. It was fun watching him! He is in the middle of the baseball season, and loving it (when he gets to play) We have had so many rain outs. We have had more games canceled due to the rain, than we have gotten to play.
