Stitches

Last Wednesday Jaron found out the hard way, that a wall is stronger and harder than his head. He was at Chris's house and they were playing cops and robbers in the dark (maybe not the smartest thing). He was the robber and he took off running so Chris would not catch him, but since he was in the dark he did not realize he needed to turn the corner and he ran right into the way. Four stitches later and all is well.

Happy Birthday Karla

Happy Birthday Karla! My kids only get 3 birthday parties, when they are 5, 10, and 15. on the other years they get to invite one of their friends over for cake. Karla decided to take advantage of not have a party when she was 15 and use that party this year. The best part of her party was she just wanted her friends over and play sports. Such a hard party to plan. She started the day by everyone coming over and Kory made them breakfast, blueberry pancakes (Karla's favorite) After breakfast they went to the church to play volleyball, basketball and wiffleball. Then after they got tired they came back to the house and had some cake.




























Karla and Hailey were the first 2 out of lightening I think they planned it that way.

All about Nathan

Since it has been awhile since I posted I decided I needed to get busy, and a lot has happened with the Brown family the last couple of weeks. Not only did Nathan have his debate competition last Tuesday night he also had a special pack meeting for scouts. Last Tuesday night Nathan was awarded his arrow of light award. Our scout troop had Clay Crowley come and do this special ceremony.

Also on the Monday the 13th Nathan had a birthday, oh what a week. Kory and I asked Nathan what he wanted for his birthday and all he would tell us was he wanted a rubber band ball, and Bakugan, I told him he had to come up with something else because he told both sets of Grandparents that he wanted Bakugan. He couldn't come up with any other ideas so Kory and I just got what we thought he could like......clothes, shoes (he had to have them) jazz tickets and we got him a bike.

Nathan and his Debate

Well my mom has not posted for a really long time it seems so I, being Karla, decided to add some recent and exciting news. Nathan has been debating for school for about a month now and has been involved in a few debates, yesterday he debated in his district debate.
Today he found out the results... and he is going to STATE!!!! Yay!! There were only 8 teams that made it to state out of about 35 or so, so he must be pretty good! Along with that he received a speaker award, what a great talent he has developed over the years. (It looks as though he is taking after his Dad, considering my Dad is a great speaker as well.) He is pretty ecstatic about it, and why shouldn't he, he has done a great job. I must say after listening to him practice at home about a billion times he is a great speaker and I bet he presented very well in front of others.
We are so proud of him! GREAT JOB NATE!!

Snow

Everyone knows just how much I like snow:( I can only think of one reason to like that white stuff okay make that 149 reasons my snowman collection.

For about a week the weather here was so nice I thought for sure spring was almost here.....but no what did it do? IT SNOWED!! So I was trying to find something positive about it, and I decided I really like snow when its on the trees and all the branches are white, so I took some pictures to remind myself why I should like snow.
